We celebrated Dmitri's third birthday this weekend with a potluck with his friends and family. I think everyone had a lot of fun. My goals were to keep the party simple, low-stress, low-cost, and centered around what Dmitri enjoys and finds special. Having a potluck was wonderful- there was a lot of delicious food! We set up a swimming pool in the backyard, and one of Dmitri's birthday presents- a trampoline- was a hit with the toddlers too.
Dmitri requested a rainbow cake, and I made homemade Mac & Cheese (he loves Mac & Cheese). At the end of the party, I asked Dmitri what his favorite part of the day was, and he responded, "Having my friends come play at my house!"

Happy 3rd trip around the sun, Dmitri! I love you so, and I am enjoying learning about you as you grow.
I'll be back later in the week with more Christmas in July ideas! And I will hopefully be having a dining room reveal pretty soon. Our new table was built just in time for the party- Dmitri picked up on this correlation and said, "Papa is building me a table for my cake!"
Happy Monday!
