Lowry doesn't consider them a trilogy but the chatacters in The Giver and Gathering Blue both show up in The Messenger. You need to read them in that order. They are all so wonderful. When you start reading them tell me what you think.Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15344398224008332639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872184645946304889.post-34400626496941737842010-04-02T21:16:01.044-04:002010-04-02T21:16:01.044-04:00~Eat Cake...that was a fairly good book. Lately I've been reading Jane Green, thanks to a suggestion from another blogger -- they aren't *quite* as flippant as some others. I also love Jennifer Wiener, she's definitely a smart, fun writer!Vanessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11979685280680438899noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872184645946304889.post-67065075167720658772010-04-01T19:48:15.058-04:002010-04-01T19:48:15.058-04:00"The Shipping News" and "Anna Karen..."The Shipping News" and "Anna Karenina" are some of my favorites as well.

Other great books I'd read again in a heartbeat:
"Out Stealing Horses," Per Petterson
"The Museum of Innocence," Orhan Pamuk
"Swann's Way," Marcel Proust
"Cane," Jean Toomer

Congrats on the new house, too! Long title, great book! Its about a boy with autism. Since my work involves kids with special needs, I am especially fond of it. If you get a chance, you should read it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07706847113557367294noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4872184645946304889.post-86649025482163017982010-04-01T10:49:30.306-04:002010-04-01T10:49:30.306-04:00I like educational books so my favorites are:
