The Library: Now with Books!

Dmitri raided my neatly stacked books like Godzilla in Tokyo.
His partner in crime...

In their defense, the books were in his bedroom, which is also Dmitri & Sookie's favorite room in the house: where they hang out and play, just the two of them, for hours out of the day.
Poor child has had to deal with this disaster for a bedroom: (he did contribute to the mess).

However, now, all of the books are somewhat neatly on the bookshelves! And all of the boxes are unpacked.

I could not be happier. I sometimes catch myself going into the library just to stare at them. It's very zhen.
I would love to put a sign that says something like, "Book store" or "Coffee Shop" above the door. We are also thinking about picking up some cute storage boxes for the bottom shelves to store random things (toys, craft supplies, etc.)

I unpacked the last 7 boxes that have been hiding in Dmitri's room since we moved in. It's weird to know that I'm officially done unpacking.  And kind of sad that it took three months to complete it!
But I'm so glad that Dmitri's room is cleared out and it can officially be his. What's more fun than putting together a nursery? I cannot wait to share ideas and projects.

Happy Monday!
Did you work on any fun projects this weekend?

  7. Sorry, I just had to laugh at that picture. I remember spending hours and hours sorting my photographs in chronological order only to have my two kids decide to look through them and strew them all over the floor. I nearly cried.

Luckily, your shelves look great. Love that they are painted black, it's a nice contrast to the colors of the books.

  14. Love the black bookshelves. I'm a lover of books, all books, especially old one's that I find at random flea markets or garage sales.

You said you would like to put something above the door. I'm sure you have heard of uppercase living, but I have a friend who does personalized vinyl now. She is starting her own etsy store which I hope to start showcasing on my blog. If you interested I will send you the link.
