A Quick Project - Burlap Earring Holder

A guest blogger, Natalie from Recessionista, at The Idea Room inspired me to make a simple jewelry holder this evening. It was quick, easy, fun, and free. AND, it's using the trendiest fabric of the moment, BURLAP. It's always a good resolution to be a bit more organized, right? Plus, I have a major jewelry organization problem. It's probably why I don't wear more jewelry. It goes something like, "Hold on, dear. Let me wipe the dried gunk of toothpaste off of my earring, then I'll be ready to go...oh, and can you look for the matching one under the bed for me?"

No more excuses now..(except for fear of a torn earlobe, courtesy of Bam-Bam, my six-month-old son!)

It literally only took about 10 minutes to make...

All you need is:
-An old picture frame (without glass or back)
-A piece of burlap the size of the frame opening
-Fray check
-Hot glue gun
-Piece of ribbon

1. Fray check the edges of the burlap and allow to dry.
2. Tie ribbon around frame and hot glue in place.
3. Hot glue the burlap to the frame (around all of the edges)
4. I hot-glued the top of the burlap around the frame for extra protection

I feel silly for even explaining it! But, let me know if you have any questions! I might have complicated it, it's that simple. Have fun getting the new year in order!
