This is what we started with (furniture not ours). And here is where we are at...
We have a long way to go...but now comes the fun part! Cosmetic changes and decorating: not the boring parts, like painting the entire room white. (Which took forever because of the paneling). So here is what I'm thinking...
I would love to have some chairs like these:
Or this....
I want to build a "window-seat" style bench...

The Estate of Things
I like how this doesn't shy away from color...
But I love the simplicity of this..
Who knows where it will go...but I am loving that I now have my "blank slate" and can start putting it together!
Have you seen anything that you love that's breakfast room-ish?
In case you missed it...Pedestal Table Redo!

Wowser..what an amazing transformation so far...and I like the vision you have of this room...gorgeous!
Just a thought ..if you dont end up doing something with the flooring..perhaps a rug of some sort...a sea grass rug..something earthy to work well with the contemporary look and pops of colour?
Love the pedastal table..I am still on the search for one for our dining room.
Cant wait to see the finished results.
Have a lovely week x
I came by to check out your blog, and I find that we have something in common! (well, beyond the proud, awesome feminism) I did a design once around those pottery barn chairs and a bench! Love that look.
It looks lovely! I also love bench seats. I say go for it. We plan on painting our table like yours, white on the bottom and black on the top. I can't wait to see your finished product!
That's it. When you're all done, I'm hiring you to do something with my house. Because even if you take years and years to make your own the way you like it, I will probably still be living in a house with white walls!!
I love what you have done so far!!! I am a huge fan of the tissue paper pom poms and plan on making some to hang above my bed in my studio apartment when I move in late August. I like the first chairs you posted, otherwise I think a bench on one side would be a great option.
I posted about benches a while back if you'd like to check it out here. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
From the little bit I've seen I'm already obsessed with your house. I love the idea of cozy seating in a breakfast room - like a corner bench with lots of eclectic cushions and pillows.
as much as i love the simplicity of my log home- ideas like these sometimes make me wish i had more options!
Great work thus far. I Love your table and I LOVE the bench seat idea!! Looks like the perfect room for it!
Your inspiration pics are great! I love where you room is at now--especially with those fun poms!
