However, with such rich color, I was worried it might be too dark. Right now, it's a muted green color.
When in doubt, buy a sample. It's worth the $4 it cost, especially if it saves you from a horrid color and wasting buckets of money.

Yep. I love it. Can't you tell? It looks like the deep color of the ocean. So we committed. We invested in Non-VOC paint, which is pricey ($50/gallon). But I am excited about trying it out and we definitely feel it's worth the extra - especially having a little one.
We have painted half of it...So we will see if we feel the same way once the entire room is deep blue. More photos to come!

I love it!!!! The inspiration photo is spectacular - I am so in love just like you! Your room definitely has some of the same elements, and by the sample picture I am hopeful it will look amazing. I can't wait to see the after photos!
OOOOOH! Wow, that is a striking color. I usually like darket colors. I am not afraid of color at all (pomegranate kitchen, olive dining, etc.). Can't wait to see the end result!
That is going to be absolutely beautiful!!! Can't wait to see how it turns out once it's finished and decorated! Gorg!
Oh I love it! I can't wait to see the finished product!
Such a classic color. The white trim will really pop..
HURRY UP AND FINISH so I can see it done, LOL.
Oooh I love that blue. I've always liked dark colors in living rooms. Our living room growing up was a dark plum and it made it feel so rich.
Our homes are so similar on the interior. Plastered walls, large tall windows, and antique doorknobs/door fixtures alike. It's been exciting seeing you transform your home, as I've not been as bold and creative as you have....and I'm completely inspired! Thank you!
BTW, like you, I LOVE seeing crisp white popping from rich color. Can't wait to see how the room turns out!
My husband LOVES super dark colors like that but I'm a little afraid of them- especially since we rent and I'd hate to have to paint over it when we move out eventually. BUT your inspiration picture made me realize that a dark color can be done without making the room look like a dark hole. So maybe in a future house in a warmer climate a nice dark color will work it's way into my home. =]
Ooh, that IS a daring color but I'll bet it looks great!
Wow!!! You go girl!! Very brave - I am usually so conservative when it comes to colour on the walls (mind you, my dining room is orange!), but I think your blue is going to look so fabulous! Can't wait to see the finished pics.

PS - thanks for your comment on my blog. Wish you were here in S.A. to feel the buzz! It's amazing!! Glad to hear that you are going to be following the World Cup from the US!!
Good on you...for taking a walk on the wild side and taking a chance with a look that most would love but never be brave enough to replicate..love it..and cannot wait to see the finished results! x
wow- that color will be great. my old dining room was that color and it was very elegant.
I a huge fan of Benjamin Moore paint, and for my new house we tried the low-VOC (rather than the no-VOC) because it got much better reviews. I think with the no-VOC you do sacrifice some quality, so that was our compromise. Let me know how you like it (and which brand of paint you use, if you don't mind my asking.)
My sister *loves* that color and I have seen it work for her -- hope you love it!
