In this photo, you can see the "blah" green that was in our living, the too-big-for-it's-britches shelf that took away from the beauty of the fireplace, and the fireplace with it's 4 different paint colors. Really not working for us.
We simplified the fireplace by painting it white. I'm loving the cobalt and how it pops against the tongue in groove ceilings. Now that we have our canvas, the fun part begins - new sofas, window treatments, light fixture...and Georgia O'Keefe. Get excited!. ; )
What do you think? Do you like the blue, or do you prefer more muted colors?

Love it. Love it! LOVE IT! A thousand times love it! Excellent color choice.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE BLUE...and it looks absolutely fantastic so far...cant wait to see more of this room. Good Skills!! x
ReplyDeleteI love the blue! It looks gorgeous! And the white fireplace really is tons better.
ReplyDeleteWe love bold colors at our house! We plan on painting our kitchen a deep-ish red. Eventually. We also just bought paint for our office. It's a pretty slate color.
Looks awesome! I love the bold color and am incredibly jealous of your fireplace! Rad work, ma'am.
ReplyDeleteHi there
ReplyDeleteI think the blue looks great!!
Life should be bright and happy and colour in your home is the best way to do that!!!
I'll be honest... I don't care for the blue but it's your home and it should be what YOU like. I'm a more yellows and reds or maroons and tans kind of woman. :) It does look better with that huge shelf gone.... made the fireplace look miniature.
ReplyDeleteSo bold - love the ceilings and fireplace against the new colour. Well done! It's going to be so exciting to see the whole room coming together with the furniture pieces and accessories! We just re-did our kiddies room and now I am itching to tackle our lounge! Will be keeping an eye out for the finished room! Way to go. Janine
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful...and your fireplace really pops in white...the shape shows up and looks beautiful - well done!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!! I have a thing for bold walls! Looks fab!
ReplyDeleteI do love the blue! (love that you painted the woodwork white too) Very fresh!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! i love the darker cobalt blue- it is so fresh and young, and so are you guys, so it suits you! i love it with the light fixture you have, too, and think some bright yellow accents would look awesome!
ReplyDeleteI think it's beautiful! I love bold colors and with the white fireplaces and ceiling...it looks nice and clean! Love it! Can't wait for all the decor items!!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue! and your fireplace is so beautiful now!
ReplyDeleteI love your home! I love that combination of cobalt and white - modern/classic at the same time. I definitely want to incorporate that into my bedroom or office this summer. The fireplace looks amazing too!
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS!!! Love how it turned out!
ReplyDeleteI'm not brave enough to go bold in my paint but I love the way it looks! Much more pop than the green and your fireplace is OH SO much better all white! Can't wait to see it with the decor in place!
ReplyDeleteIt looks INCREDIBLE! You need to have your own show.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I was wondering if you'd get rid of that shelf! It's been bugging me since you first showed the house! It was by far way too large. I think the color turned out awesome. I can't wait to see what you do with the place!
ReplyDeleteAM in LOVE with this color!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I am totally into colors! Can't wait to see what else you do!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it. I'm all about neutral colors lately but you rock that cobalt.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue against the white!!!
ReplyDeleteXO
It's great! I'd even go so far as to also paint the black of the fireplace the cobalt blue.
ReplyDeleteMan, oh man, I love it! The fireplace is drop dead gorgeous now - the white really shows off its curves. And the blue is so dramatic, but still very cozy and inviting. When can I visit? :P
ReplyDeleteI was telling my boyfriend earlier this week about how all of my inspiration photos have light walls (light blue, light green, off-white, etc.) so I am obviously drawn to white walls, but then I thought of your inspiration photo for this room and now after seeing this reveal, I am thinking I really love dramatic blue walls, too!
bold and beautiful and i love that ceiling, too!
ReplyDeletethe blue wall + white fireplace...wowzers. i love it
ReplyDeletethe blue is so unexpected, but wow., i love it...the new fish plates look amazing against it!!
ReplyDeletegood job...and did you put in the tongue in groove on the ceiling? i'd love to do that in my place, but would love to know how labour-intensive it is!! :)
thanks for the visit and comments today!
xoxo
