Holiday Baking

I love to create in the kitchen...but I don't need to be eating all that I bake! That probably explains my weird fantasy of having seven children and baking for them (do not tell the husband!). But I digress, the holidays are the perfect excuse for me to be getting messy in the kitchen. I am putting together tins of Christmas treats for family and I am having so much fun. Here are a few of the recipes that I've tried...

-Girl's Gone Child: English Toffee (I've never made toffee before...It as surprisingly simple! And its super tasty. I used pecans instead of walnuts).
-My Big, Fat, Chocolate Chip Cookies (delicious! I made them normal size...I know, not as fun. But instead of chocolate, I put red and green M & Ms and I added a handful of pecan pieces).
-The Idea Room's Oreo Bark (but instead of traditional Oreos, I used Candy Cane Joe-Joe's from Trader Joe's. Which I'm addicted to, by the way. They are basically peppermint/candy cane oreos.)

Next up, Snickerdoodles & Gingersnaps. Mmm!

What recipes are you loving this holiday season? Please share!! This pregnant lady loves sweets.

I do all the big ones- choc. chip, pb, snickerdoodles, sugar cookies, gingerbread men, and this year pumpkin. Also on the list are no bake cookies, choc. fudge, and pb fudge. We divide it up for work and parties (and some for us. Of course.) I love holiday baking!

I am totally on the same page as you! I love baking. Your recipes look delicious! I'm also planning on doing gift baskets with homemade goodies for my co-workers this year. So far my list includes banana bread, cookies (or just the cookie dough which they can bake fresh when they want), and homemade marshmallows w/ hot cocoa mix. I hope my list doesn't become too ambitious!

YUM! I do love to bake but have tried to hold off (I cannot resist it!). We are making cakes in a jar, s'mores bark, gingerbread marshmallows, and clementine, margarita marmalade.

Toffee is my favorite! I am afraid to make it because I have no self control!
