A Simple Train Birthday Party

We had a small get together with a few of Dmitri's friends in honor of his birthday this past weekend. I wanted to keep in simple and focus primarily on Dmitri's favorite things. Like trains, cake, cookies, and bananas. Here are snapshots of the event:

the invitation

The banana split table

Ice Cream buckets

 Homemade blue macarons

Damon is ready for a party

Homemade cake & gum paste train

 Cake with sparklers

 Happy Birthday to you!

Dmitri loved the singing and sparklers; he is clapping and saying "YAY!!!"

 Birthday boy with his hat

Sookie loved the hat too; Dmitri's birthday is the anniversary of her joining our family!

It was a wonderful, simple, and happy occasion!

I like the ice cream buckets! My 8 year old daughter shares your sons birthday (7/11, right?) and we did a little sundae table at her birthday party. The big icecream tub I used was the only thing that wasn't cute on the table!
