Even the word itself sounds so blah: Utilities. That is what I've spent the last day doing...
Running around town, hours on the phone.
Water. Electricity. Internet. Garbage Pick-up. Recycle.
So unless you are some rare bird that finds these things interesting, my life has actually been rather boring.
Though, a house that was built in the 1850's that is surrounded by acres of land, at night, with no electricity. Now that's exciting. Or at least, spooky and skin-crawling. We lit the entire home by candle light.I would have taken pictures, but, that's the nature of candelight. It's a little too dark for photos. Thankfully, the electricity is now turned on.

I have moved 8 times in the past 11 years and I hate the utilities part! Security deposit for this deposit for that...ugh! But I do believe that packing a gazillion boxes to move was the worst part for me :(
But it's very exciting that you have a new {old, historic} home! Congratulations!

Wow, what an adventure. I would have to say that while it doesn't sound exciting it sure will be nice to bring electricity and other modern day necessities back into your lives (though the thought of lighting a home only by candle light sounds quite peaceful and lovely).
Oh gosh I would NOT like that. I get creeped out way too easily!
Glad you can see again at night! I don't think it would be any good to paint in the dark!
HELLO!
first congrats on a new house. or should i say old? ;) you have got us beat by a few years with our house! our's is 96 y.o. but i love it. as you must agree, there is something about an old home & it's charm. you can't beat it.

Yeah... I convinced my hubby to do that when we bought our home! :)
Awesome house!! Sounds like y'all have started quite the adventure. :)
Yay to electricity! Your new (old) house is awesome. I am an old house person and am looking forward to following your adventure.
oh man, i definitely feel for you! those mundane chores are definitely not fun but oh-so-necessary. big congrats on your new home :)
Wow! That sounds like the background settings of a movie... (the no-light part, not the utilities!).
Yay, electricity! At least it only need to be done once. I actually look forward to the day (probably the entire day) I get to spend on the phone setting up utilites, because that will mean the house (however itsy-bitsy) is all OURS!!
Congrats on yours!! Can't wait to see how you transform it!
I would be spooked! But it also sounds kind of fun... only for a day though! Glad you got your utilities... fun stuff... especially when those monthly bills come in. "yay"...
Congratulations on the new house!!
Boring, yet completely AMAZING and exciting, no?
Congrats on your new house!
