A Wreath

I am so excited for fall...hurry up and get here already! Maybe, if I start decorating, mother nature will get the hint and feel welcome to usher fall into the South.

Fall would not be complete without wreaths. So, I created this wreath from yarn, felt, and ribbon:

I like how simple it is.

I used a hideous straw wreath; I wrapped yarn around it, hot-gluing along the way, and then made felt flowers by cutting out odd shapes and sewing them together (with a button in the middle!). It was that simple. Although, I will say, straw wreaths are a pain in the ass. SERIOUSLY. I would recommend using some other round wreath. I went with straw because it was $2. What a mess!

Have you started decorating for fall?

*In other news, my blog looks disgustingly disjointed. Do not despair! It is under going a makeover, and is in the bruised up stages. Really, it just needs to be wrapped up with gauze until it heals. But ya know, web-based surgical gauze is hard to come by. *

Love this wreath!! Where did you get the yarn? It looks pretty unique. You have some excellent color choices. P.S. My blog is constantly going through puberty as I learn how to snazz it up. It's embarrassing.

I totally feel for you with the straw. Itchy and messy.

I love the new header on your blog!! I'm sure the look is going to be fantastic when it heals up :-).

Great looking wreath too. I can't believe I don't own a glue gun...I should probably invest in one! The flowers are an awesome pop of color too, I love it!

The wreath is darling! Sorry about the straw, I know what a pain that can be. Thanks for the nice comments and I am getting ready for fall too! I came home from Florida and bam! It is fall where I live, it was 43 degrees last night!

I so love your blog. I definitely plan on giving this wreath a shot. I feel like since the semester has started I've hardly had time to breath or money to create anything, yet this seems like a totally fun project for a mellow crafternoon. Add a cup of coffee and some blustery weather and what could be better :)

Ooh love the new site design. And the wreath. Gonna have to make me one of those bad boys, but I know it won't look nearly as good as yours.

If you think a straw wreath is a pain, I've helped bail the stuff! Whenever we bailed, it was always hot and humid. I'm happy that we're done with the bailing years and with the body aches that it brings!!! I love the wreath--what a great idea.

I have not come to terms with fall yet.

I love this! So pretty! Well done. I am so ready for fall it's not even funny. I haven't started decorating but I'm taking full advantage of wearing fall appropriate stuff already (cover ups and such).
