A Woodland Gnome First Birthday: Damon's Party!

Damon's first birthday party was yesterday, and we could not have asked for a more beautiful day to play outside and celebrate Damon's arrival one year ago. High 70's and sunny, with intermittent clouds to cool us off occasionally. We invited close friends and family and had hamburgers from a local farm for lunch. If you missed the gnome house invitation, you can check it out here! Here are snapshots of the woodland event!

The birthday boy really enjoyed the balloons!

 flowers
 Little owl sugar cookies
Damon's mini cake!
Sparkling sosemary limeade served in mason jars
 The cake table
 Toadstool cupcakes!

The buche de noelle cake & custom made fondant toadstool and gnome baby! (The cake was quite tasty!) The topper was from this etsy shop. She has so many adorable toppers. I want them all!

Damon was more interested in trying to eat the cupcakes than take a photo!

 Singing "happy birthday"!

The little ones enjoying some dessert!
I got 36" balloons...they were insane. Dmitri really enjoyed them!

 Brothers & balloons <3
I made felt gnome hats for all of the children. I was inspired by these hats!
Damon's hat was extra special. I "embroidered" it (if you actually know how to embroider, please don't look closely. I have never done it before and just "drew with my needle")

 little details
I had flowers and lantern terrariums as table decorations. I made the toadstool and peg gnomes.
 Mr. & Ms. Gnome
Another lantern terrarium on the white table. In lieu of table clothes, I used a giant roll of white paper on the tables so that everyone (adults & littles!) could enjoy some crayon graffiti.

I'm happy that we had a wonderful time celebrating Damon August's first year and the blissful day that he was born. I think I'm ready to go back to normal life for now though!

That looks awesome! I had lofty ambitions for my son's first birthday but found it was much more difficult than I could manage. Kudos to you!
