With my recently arrived fabrics, I plan to make some window treatments. Ahh, but which ones. There are so many cool tutorials out there. Here are a few that I'm admiring:

I'm sure that there are plenty more...do you have a favorite or your own tutorial?

I'm so glad you posted these. I am looking to make some curtains myself but I would have no clue where to start. Thanks!

Only you would be thinking about window treatments while nine months pregnant...
That's why we all love to read you! :)

I'm really loving the fixed flat Roman shade, but it may just be the amazing pattern that is drawing me to it!LOL

Your ambition so close to the baby's arrival is super admirable. I do have to say I have a few "home projects" in mind before our baby arrives!

i would never be able to do any of these types of projects. i do not have a crafty bone in my body. but i did tie a bow on a purse the other day. hahaha, that's about the extent of my talents.

These are all beautiful! I wish I could just make the plain ones. :) A great project to do while waiting. :) I did make pillows when I was 7 months pregnant, that was a chore let me tell you. :)
Hope you are feeling good.

I made valences out of my kids' crib bumper. Good recycling project. Here's the link:

I have made my own fake Roman shades using this tutorial:

http://www.aprettycoollife.com/2009/08/diy-roman-shade-mistreatment-no-sewing.html

I bought my cheap plastic miniblinds at the Habitat ReStore for onlyu $2.00 each (had to use 2 side by side for each of our 6 foot windows.)

The only thing...... the fabric glue... I used the same kind as shown in the tutorial. It hasn't held up well on the shades that we raise and lower everyday. I actually have decided to cover the back (not shown in tutorial) and before I do that I am going to reglue most parts with a different glue. I will also hand stitch through the blind slat and into the fabric, then I will cover my stiches with a ribbon, going around in a square (so that the finish product will look more like that on one of the tutorials you referenced). Anyway - can't wait to see what you come up with!

Sorry I am posting anonymously.... google isn't liking me today.
