Thanksgiving has come and gone...

We had a wonderful first Thanksgiving in our home. The food was delicious and we enjoyed visiting with David's family. Although we do not have a dining room, we are lucky enough to have a galley shaped library- perfect for a long table. We were glad that it worked out as well as we had envisioned when we purchased our home!

A photo of the table...set for 8 adults, but could hold 12-14 (it's a good thing too, considering how quickly the family is growing. In two years, we will gone from 0 kids to 5!)

And thank you all so much for your encouraging words after my visit with the bitchy bitter midwife. I ate an extra bowl of pumpkin ice cream just for her! You must try it; I got mine from Trader Joe's.

But now that Thanksgiving is over...Christmas is upon us! We only have one full week left of school (a very intense week, might I add). And then it's time to celebrate the season with friends, family, and of course, a project or two!

This past weekend we cut down our very first Christmas tree...

So many trees...so hard to decide!

Let's take our picture and see if it feels right.

Loaded onto the car...

I am very thankful for high ceilings! Let the decorating begin....
How was your Thanksgiving? Have you decorated your tree yet?

Your Thanksgiving set up looked lovely! I'm excited to have a bigger home and bigger family someday so I can decorate host family get togethers :) Your family portrait in front of your tree is so cute! I am likely putting up our tree and lights sometime between now and Wednesday and waiting until my boyfriend has some time away from work this weekend to decorate it. It bums me out that he's so busy at work form now until March, but it definitely helps me appreciate him more when he is at home.

Your Thanksgiving table looked great! I think the bookshelves made a great backdrop, actually.

I decorated our tree on Saturday and am working on other Christmas decorations here and there. Can't wait to see all of yours!

I need to rewind...first of all, I don't think I've seen that room before. I envy your bookcases! Second, I missed the midwife story. Going back to find it now!
